A fair with three centuries behind it
The Kota Dussehra Mela began in 1723 AD under Mahrao Durjanshal Singh Hada as religious ceremony and royal gathering. Later rulers widened it with processions and performances until it became one of Rajasthan's largest cultural fairs and a symbol of the Hadoti region's heritage.
Every year lakhs of visitors arrive for the victory of good over evil — villagers in bright traditional attire, families from across the country, and artists from every corner of India.
